Sekou Bangoura – The Tenacious Tennis Player
Sekou is a professional tennis player from America. He played for the Florida Gators at the collegiate level before moving on to the professional ranks. Sekou is on the road competing around the world about 30-35 weeks out of the year. His career best ATP singles ranking was 213th and his highest ITF ranking was 28th. He also competes in doubles with his career best ATP ranking being 147th. He has also managed to win an impressive 7 Futures titles. Sekou uses his tennis expertise to give back too. He coaches young children at a tennis academy back in Tampa, Florida.

Who is your sporting idol/someone you looked up to growing up?
Without a doubt Muhammad Ali. He is one of the greatest athletes of all time and an inspiration to millions.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
I don’t have a lot of time off, but when I do have some time I really love go-karting.
Besides the sport(s) you compete in, what is your favorite sport?
Basketball
What is something interesting about you that few people know?
I’m a huge Dragon Ball Z and anime fan.
Who is your favorite artist?
I like too many to choose just one! But, J. Cole, Chance the Rapper, and Gunna are up there. I like many more though.
Do you have any words of advice to aspiring athletes?
There’s a path that leads to what you want most in life. That path is full of suffering, but also full of victories. Find that path and dare to walk it.
