Do you have any words of advice to aspiring athletes?
The advice I have for aspiring athletes is to see everything in slow motion. When you are achieving goals and relentlessly chasing goals there’s a lot of up and downs, there are a lot of lessons and moments where you discover your character and defining moments that show what you are really made of. When this happens you want to see it happen slowly because if you don’t you miss out on the opportunity to grow and to learn and to improve. When things happen fast we tend to not think and just do and those actions of not thinking thoroughly through to understand can be the difference of failure and success.
If you weren’t an athlete what would you be?
If I weren’t an athlete I’d probably go into business I’m really interested in being an entrepreneur and creating/building businesses.
Do you remember the moment you realized you were talented and going to make it?
Yeah I always knew I was talented before I even started playing always had the belief in myself that I can do anything I put my mind to. I never had that moment where I knew I was going to make it. I’ve always had faith and hoped to make it but never had the idea that it was a sure thing. To me nothing is sure or promised in this lifetime except death. Nothing else is promised or owed to you.
What do you attribute the most to your success?
Patience, resilience, hard work, consistency, discipline and lastly no matter how I fail or fall i am always figuring out why I failed and getting back up to try again until I succeed. I have the never quit attitude. Always attacking each opportunity no matter how big or small! I will never back down and stay down I will always get up and go again.
What do you hope to still achieve?
My biggest goals is to still play in the NBA people say it’s to late or maybe not possible but I say let’s just see what happens. I’ll put the work in and based on that we will see if teams want to bet on me.
